Abstract
Syrinx is a composition derived from a series of saxophone improvisations that were made in response to recordings of birdsong. It was included in the compilation "For the Birds: The Birdsong Project" - a collection of 172 pieces of new music inspired by the beauty of birdsong, performed by artists from across the musical spectrum, and winner of the 2024 Grammy Award for Best Limited Edition Box Set.
