Abstract
This provides the content for the special on William Temple and the Rebuilding of the Public Square in post-pandemic Britain, of the Journal of Church and State, which I edited. The papers are based on a conference that I organised at Blackburn Cathedral in December 2022, bringing some insights on his legacy for Jewish-Christian dialogue during the War, and how as the founder of the Blackburn diocese that can be translated in Blackburn today, which has a substantial Muslim community. The issue brings different disciplines into the conversation with the aim of engaging policy makers in Britain on how religious communities aid the coherence of society after the pandemic.
