The introduction locates the need for a focus on learning and teaching leadership with particular reference to how the various contested identities (gender, country of origin, etc.) of individuals can have an impact on their positioning as a learning and teaching leader. We further explore the value of adopting a narrative approach to capture the leadership behaviour.
