Abstract

Early Career Teachers in Higher Education explores the experiences of Early Career Teachers [ECTs] through thirteen personal teaching journeys from academics working across Africa, South America, Europe, Asia and Australasia. This introduction sets out the terrain as to the current state of play in the field and what we already know about the challenges experienced and opportunities available to early career academics. It introduces the reasons for adopting a narrative approach in the writing of the chapters and finally it introduces the various chapter contributions.
