Abstract

An anti-ableist pedagogy (AaP) seeks to promote a deep engagement with disability, challenging a belief that it must always be equated with a diminished and negative experience. This chapter will build on your understanding of disability in order to promote an anti-ableist approach to art education. Here we consider this as a means of challenging everyday assumptions whilst valuing the presence of diverse bodies and minds in and beyond our art classrooms.
