This chapter is an entry for a reference publication on Christianity in North Africa and Asia. It focuses on the deveopment, ethos and contribution of Anglicanism in the Middle East. It examines how the historical Anglican ethos that developed in the Church of England helped shape its mission in the Middle East and how Anglicans engaged with political and religious authorities in the middle east from the mid nineteenth century until present day in making a contribution to the wider society in that context.
