Abstract
A reflection on the evocative and affective potential of everyday objects in a museum environment, this short piece of creative writing takes a drawer full of old spoons as the starting point for an exploration of the habits and customs of the dining table. In doing so it brings together social history, art and design history, the history of food and manners, and the writer's personal memory.
