This chapter explores the recovery arts movement, highlighting initiatives that celebrate addiction recovery through creative expression. From the Addiction Recovery Arts (ARA) network, which connects artists in recovery globally, to organizations like Fallen Angels, Portraits of Recovery, Christina Schultz’s Barcelona-based art initiatives, small adventure performances, The Recovery Project, and Vita Nova, these initiatives demonstrate the diverse ways recovery narratives are shared through storytelling, performance, and community engagement. Drawing on Franco “Bifo” Berardi’s (2017) concept of Futurability, the chapter critically examines how recovery arts can challenge societal stigma, reimagine cultural representations of the recovery community, and foster radical social transformation. Together, these projects show that celebrating the joys of addiction recovery does more than share stories of hope; it creates a culture of possibility. In so doing, the collective vision of this chapter’s contributors shapes the future of the recovery arts movement in powerful ways.
